ANZAC

I learnt that the soldiers got nightmares, depressed and stressed out. I also learnt the conditions in the trenches and that some of the soldierswere 13-17 years old. image

This is my Gallipoli letter

What Is ANZAC Day? Its the day that we remember about Australian and New Zealand who fought in World War 1. Soldiers landed at the shores of Gallipoli on the 25 April in the early hours of the morning.

Why Do We Commemorate ANZAC Day? We commemorate ANZAC Day because of the amount of soldiers that died ,risked their lives and left their loved ones home.

Acrostic Poems

Germans were Turkish allies

All we could do was fight

Life’s were being risked of death

Lots of family’s were impacted on losing their relatives

It was never easy being in war

Pounded by fright

Ottoman Empire was trying to be captured by the English

Lest we forget

I’ll never forget Gallipoli

Other weapons were used like bombs

Pushed together to get in enemy trenches

Exhaling at the sight of my bullet hitting the target

Nothing but loud gunfire

Cold at night

Hearing screams of the wounded

Tidal Ecosystem

What Is A Tidal Ecosystem?

A tidal ecosystem is the area of a low and high tide where organisms live. Organisms are animals and plants.

Why Are They Important?

When the tides come in it washes animals and plants like little fishes and rotten algae. When the tide washes out the rotten algae stays on land and crabs come out and eat them. It’s basically like home dilivery for them.

Aquatics Review
On Monday and Tuesday year room 29,28,19,17 and room 25 went to Port Noarlunga Beach. We went on a bus at 9:05 a.m. to leave to Port Noarlunga. We all got there at 9:30 a.m. Then we got into our groups for our activities. Our group had to put on wet suits and a PFD. We walked about 800 meters to our activity. The first activity I did was wave skiing. It was similar to kayaking. The similarities between kayaking was paddling. We learnt how to paddle backwards which was a challenge. We also learnt how to turn. Wave skiing went to 11:30 a.m. and we had to make our way back to the surf life saving club. We had to rinse our wet suits and take our PFD’s off. We had a 5 minute break and waited at the surf life saving club for our next activity. My next activity was kayaking. Our group had to walk down to the river in thongs or shoes. Our instructor name was PHIL. After we went down to the river we had to go in this shed and grab a paddle,a pair of booties and a PFD. We learnt the basics and paddle in the water. In the onkapringa river the were fish. The types of fish were sand whiting and brim. After the activity we headed back to the surf life saving club to have lunch. When we finished lunch the year 7’s went on a reef walk and the year 6 and 5’s went on a beach walk along the river to its mouth back out the beach and back to the surf life saving club. Then we jumped back on the bus back to school.
On Tuesday we basically did the same thing. Get on the bus go put our wet suits and PFD’s on walk 800 meters and wave ski. The water was a bit more still on Tuesday then Monday. After we finished wave skiing we did the same thing as yesterday. After kayaking we went on a reef walk. A boat took us out to the reef. We learnt about the shells and species on the reef. The slippery green stuff on the feet was called algi. After the reef walk we packed up and went home. I had a lot of fun and I recommend wave skiing and kayaking to other people.
