A tidal ecosystem is where different animal and plant species live between the high and low tide lines. They are also known as areas that are between high tide and low tide where many different plants and animals live.

Why are they important?

they are important because they provide homes for animals and plants and they also provide food for different animals who live there, for instance crabs and fish.

Where can you find a tidal ecosystem?

Some places where you can find them are on rocky shores like headlands, cobble beaches and sometimes even man made jetties. (Saint Kilda)

what types of plants and animals live in an ecosystem?

Many animals live in tidal ecosystems but some that I know of are fish, sea stars, crabs, bivalves ( they are Soft creatures), anemone, shrimp and many more.

The tidal ecosystem is the area between the low tide and the high tide. It is the damp part that is still damp after the wave has gone back out to sea.

It is important for animals because it brings food in and algae for crabs.

You can find tidal ecosystems at the St Kilda Mangroves. The St Kilda Mangroves are located north of outer harbour.

You will find crabs, barnacles, brittle stars, algae, small fish, rays, mussels and sea snails.

3. Where can you find a tidal ecosystem?

The St Kilda Mangroves are a tidal ecosystem located in North Adelaide.

When the tide is high all sorts of animals come to eat food like fish’s.When the tide is low all the algae is washed up so crabs come to eat all of it and they can live in the sand when tide is low.And when crabs are living on a reef the tide is high and as it drops down all the food gets stuck on the reef so then it bacomes home delivery.
