  1. When the video first started playing I had no idea what to expect, I thought the guy on the left was scared the most but just didn’t want to show it! The guy on the right let excitement overpower his nerves so he wasn’t very scared at first but once they were in the air he was really scared.58! I was very surprised that the guy on the right did puke because he looked like he was going to but luckily he didn’t.82. It didn’t look like they were strapped in very well but obviously they were because the didn’t fall.

  2. I was extremely scared. The person running the slingshot ride strapped Jason and I into the chair and walked over to the stand to start the ride. Then a count down started and before I knew it it started. I felt like my stomach was in my brain and I was going to pass out. I was screaming my lungs out of me in fear and joy. Jason on the other hand had been on this ride my times and wasn’t as petrified as I was. The ride was slowing down and eventually it stopped. I got of the ride and the adrenalin was rushing through me. It was a great experience and I can’t wait to do it again.

  3. I was strapped in and I was scared. I wanted a thrill, not this madness! My friend, who was strapped in next to me, didn’t flinch the moment he was strapped in. Of course he was nervous but not as much as me! I was frightened when the count down started. 5… 4… 3… 2… I felt a small grumble in my stomach and knew what was coming. I tried to keep it down. It worked but as soon as i was in the air and heading at 100km per hour, a knew I couldn’t keep it down. Blahhhhh!!!!! It rained vomit! I felt bad for the people on the ground. When we went down there were 5 to 10 people angry at me. I avoided the rage and went off with my friend. “I’m never doing that again.”

  4. I jump in the seat next to Graham and I freeze. Only momentarily but it was long enough for the ride attendant boy to ask me to keep moving. Once I take my seat I take a deep breath and look over to Travis who will film the entire ride. We are strapped in with a harness. I swear he couldn’t have done it any tighter. At this point my heart is racing, so fast I can’t smile. The boy then straps Graham in and gives us a short lecture of how to keep safe. 3…2…1… WHOOOOOSH!

  5. We went out to KFC and got a bucket of chicken. As we dug into the delicious Sam got the idea of going to the royal Adelaide show. I went up to the counter and said did you spike the chicken. She said no. So I walked off.

At home we hot dressed in proper clothes and went to the show. As we got to the show Sam out of nowhere points to this ride called the Slingshot. We got in the ride and it shot us up into the sky Sam was screaming but my face was emotion less.

    • It was a Friday and Sam and I went to KFC we purchased a bucket of chicken for no apparent reason. We sat down and dug into the chicken, Sam then locked eyes with me and screams “lets go to the Adelaide Show!” I wondered if Sam was delirious. But I still agreed. So we went out of KFC and drove of to the show with the bucket still in hand.

We arrived at the show and saw a ride which slingshots you into the air. Sam and I lined up and got on it. It felt like a rocket

  6. I decided to go to the Royal Adelaide Show my friend Graham. We wanted to go on a few rides this year because we never usually went on any and didn’t really want to. This year we wanted to try something new. We went over to a ride called the “Sling Shot”. The sling shot is a massive ride that basically sling shots you up into the air for a while and then brings you back down. My buddy Graham was a bit nervous about the ride. I told him everything was going to be okay, he believed me and there was no more problems and overall a good day.

  7. Me and Billy were next in line. Me personally, I was terrified, but Billy was excited. I didn’t want to go on the Slingshot, but, Billy would give me $50, so I was in. We were walking towards the seats and I felt my stomach rumble, I knew I shouldn’t of had those 2 donuts plus and vanilla thick-shake. “Are you sure you want to go on?” Asked Billy. “Yeah, I’m fine with it” replied I. I felt something coming up, but there was no turning back now, I was already in the seat, then we shot up, Billy was laughing and I was screaming. As soon as we got to the highest point, everything came out, it went in the air and then back in my face. When we got down, at least another 6 people threw up. “Well then, where’s my fifty bucks? Asked I.

  8. 100 word challenge

One day are family went to the show and one of the rides was the sling shot as they strapped me in I started to feel really nerves.
But on the other hand my brother was excited and relaxed once the other people got strapped in to the ride the was a noise counting down from 10 but I thought it was for a different ride then all of a sudden I heard a click and people waving then we got shot up into the sky.
We were going about 100 miles per hour I saw my brother laughing with joy and waving to my mum when we got shot up I had I bad feeling in my gut.

Once we got shot into the sky we were rocking back and forth I started to smile and laugh with my brother as we were getting brought back in.
After the ride was over I felt good about my self and wanted to do it again when we walked over to our family our mum was so proud of me getting over my fear so she rewarded me with some ice cream when we got home I talked to all my friends about it. It was the best $50 I have ever spent so I am going to start saving for next year.

  9. The night before the show opened Ethan offered to invite me to the Royal Adelaide show on the very first day that it opened. So that Friday morning Ethan picked me up from my house and off we went to the show. In the car Ethan and I made a list of what rides and show bags that we wanted to go on or buy. When we got In the gates of the show the first ride we picked was the sling shot. Ethan didn’t want to go on the ride but I forced him to go on the sling shot. We were getting buckled in the sling shot when I said to Ethan “I’m starting to regret this”. They shot the sling shot in the air with the go pro on how head, Ethan and I were screaming and yelling while we were in the air. After we got off the ride Ethan vomited in the toilet and all of his breakfast came out. After we went on lots more rides that weren’t as scary as the sling shot and bought all of how cool show bags. Ethan invited me over to his house to sleep and we played with all of our show bags. The End

  10. It was a day before I was going to the Royal Adelaide show, I was so excited to go.

It was the day, I got ready at eight o’clock and left at nine o’clock. I arrived there at ten thirty it was already jammed packed full of people. Yesterday when I read the newspaper I saw this ride called the slingshot and I said to myself “I’m going to go on the slingshot first thing”. When I saw it I got straight in. I was scared but also excited. After the ride finished, I was dizzy but it was so fun.

  11. When we were watching the video I was anxious to see what happened next. I was anxious/nervous because some people have been sick from fear on those sorts of rides.
The guy on the right looked very exited and less scared than the person on the left. He was yelling and smiling while the guy on the left was shy, quiet and scared.56
I don’t think that the person on the left was so scared that he was going to throw up but I think he would have willingly got off the ride. I think that the person on the right that was confident would have happily done it again and enjoyed it as much as he had don’t the first time.

  12. Slingshot
“Goodbye mum”, I shouted out. Without waiting for an answer I shut the door to my house. This was my time. I was so excited. I was 12 years old, and my parents had said that I could go by myself to the Adelaide Show when I was twelve. I took the train in to the show. When I got there I met up with Andy and Max (my friends), and we looked around. Our eyes fell upon the tallest ride there… The Slingshot. We got in line and waited our turn. Pretty soon it was time to go on. We were all nervous as they pushed the harness over our chests. The ride started to count down. 5.4.3.2.1… We were rocketed up into the sky, wind nearly tearing our faces off. The we dropped back down, our eyeballs nearly clearing our sockets. After 2 dreadful minutes the ride halted to a stop. We all got out and agreed, never again.

  13. I couldn’t wait to get on the sling shot but my friend Max,is too scared so I bribed him with $50. My friend is really nervous and he is fidgeting a lot. I could hear the loud music in the background and I was busy waving to my dad. There was a count down starting from 5 my heart was beating really fast and I was shaking but I couldn’t wait to get going 5…4…3…2…1 We went flying in the air going about 70 kilometres per hour. When we got to the top Max finally smiled. I was having fun the whole ride. I was confident I was enjoying myself and I was relaxed. As the ride finished Max was so excited to go again but he said no because we’ve used all of our money.

  14. Finally after begging for a straight week to my parents they decided that I could go to the show with a mate. Straight away the first ride we saw was the slingshot, I ran towards it but my friend was behind with a facial expression saying his nervous. I got into the ride and my mate finally found the courage to come on. As the speaker in the back round was playing music it suddenly stopped with a voice that said “buckle up the ride is going to start” there was a screen in front of me counting down from 3,2,1 and we were off. As we were flying through the air I found the wind blowing onto me was amazing and I’d do it again but my friend on the other hand was thinking about a whole different book.

  15. One day I was going to the royal Adelaide show with my friend and my mum and grandparents when we got they we lined up in a line for 30 minutes straight. When we got our tickets we had a look around and we saw hot dog shops and heaps of other shops that we could eat at but we ended up have a cone of chips. Which was a whopping price of $19.50 so after that we went to the show bag area and i got the hunger games and my friend got pokemon x and y. So we had a look at our bags we went over to the rides and we both went on the hangover. Then went to the lizard competition and then we had a look at all they other animal shows then we went back to the rides and watched some people do some of the rides. Then a ride stood out it was called the giant drop and people would be in a ball and there would be a countdown and then the people would be ready to go. But they would not go, they would stay there for another 5 seconds then get dropped at 150 km per hour. So everyone would scream so we went over there to get on it but we were too short.

  16. We got strapped in and anxiously waited for the ride to begin. The ride began and our heart beat began to rise. We were getting slinger around and my other mate was screaming at the top of his lungs, I was just holding onto the bright red bars and gritting my teeth together waiting for the ride to end, I had butterflies in my stomach for half the ride eventually I adapted to the ride. Slowly the ride started to stop and my stomach calmed down and my mate stopped screaming. I don’t think I’m ever going on that ride again!

  17. So we were walking to get some “fairy floss” with my friend Hans so we wouldn’t get hungry while watching the car show, and on the way there Hans saw the slingshot ride and asked me if I wanted to go on it with him, at first i said no but he kept on asking me that i finally said yes. We were waiting in line and surprisingly there was a tiny line so within the time span of 2 minutes we were at the front of the line. When we got on the ride the man that was in charge put the straps over our shoulders and under our arms he closed the cage and whispered “good luck”.After 12 seconds I heard a click and we went flying. I was screaming at the top of my lungs and was about to pass out.
